          Welcome to REZA RESORT,
a source of indoor and outdoor cycling information

My very first indoor cycling class!

The story of how I was introduced to indoor cycling (some call it spinning or revving) goes something like this...

One day, over a decade ago, a good friend of mine, Dave, asked me if I had ever done "spinning". I, in my usual non-serious self, started spinning around in circles, and said; yup, sure have.

A few hours later, at precisely 6pm I was on a LeMond RevMaster indoor cycling bike in my very first spin class, second row, 3 bikes to the left of center.

The room was dark, lit only by black lights, and the music highly energized, the instructor, a beautiful athletic blonde...in amazing shape, leading dozens of willing riders to work harder.

She could pedal fast enough to make her shoes disappear into a blur. And she did it all to the beat of the music. I was amazed, at her, at the energy that flowed throughout the room, and at how the front row followed her every command, as if to fight for the right to stay in the front row next time.

I remember how awkward I felt before my first class, during class and after class. But, I loved it all. And became so addicted, I drove 20 minutes each way 6 times a week to get my spin fix.

This routine continued for a few months until one day I asked the smoking hot blonde spin instructor if she knew of any other *better* places to spin. Listen to me! I had become a spin snob. Yes, and now I was looking for something better, tougher, more serious. And something closer to my house.

Fast forward several months, and I opened a spin studio and hired that awesome instructor to manage it. The place was one-of-a-king and it was called REV IT UP located in Cave Creek, Arizona. And REV IT UP, it did. This place was designed from the ground up with one thing in mind, the ultimate spin experience. I had a professional sound club sound system installed to rock the place like a nightclub. The walls were built of sound proof materials and we could still shake the building when we cranked the music.

REV IT UP was a friendly, neighborhood place, where we made lifelong friends, changed lives, and inspired folks young and old to become serious about their health, fitness and wellness.

And now Reza wanted to raise the bar again! He thought if a spin-only studio could do so much, what if he added Yoga, Pilates, massage, and more. What if you could have it all in one place? The best of the best!

That's what REZA RESORT was all about. THE BEST OF THE BEST. THE 'EXCLUSIVELY DIFFERENT", "UNBELIEVABLY PERFECT" place, like never before, like never after.

Absolute Perfection, by the absolute perfectionist, Reza!
A spin room from the heavens, like never before, like never after.

At REZA RESORT we included clean towels nicely placed on the handle bars, and sports water bottles on the bike, and the bikes were maintained perfectly.

Our spin room was filled with 45 awesome LeMond Revmasters, with its own 5-Ton A/C unit, 15 foot ceilings and 10 speakers to provide the perfect surround sound experience, and not a single ceiling fan AKA crutches.

Before designing and building REZA RESORT I did a ton of research, and traveled far and wide in search of the perfect spin, yoga, and Pilates studios. From Scottsdale, to Santa Monica, to Nice, France, and wherever else someone suggested there may be a studio to see.

Reza had some grand ideas of a little oasis in the desert, which for practical reasons he had to tone down. But, at the end, after much thought and much discussion with his initial team of dedicated instructors, managers, and advisers, REZA RESORT became much more than Reza could have ever imagined. It took on a life of its own.

REZA RESORT became the safe haven for all those who were in search of the perfect place to seek fitness, and wellness.

Looking back, thoughts of REZA RESORT fills those who experienced it with a warm feeling. It was like a sweet dream that we wished could have lasted forever.

We all loved REZA RESORT And still love REZA RESORT, for what it was, what it stood for, and its mastery of perfection, in a time where attention to detail and service have become foreign to so many...

"If I were to create another fitness place, it would be the exact duplicate of REZA RESORT"; says Reza.

Although REZA RESORT is not physically there any longer, for some, its fond memories will last a lifetime.

Reza had designed a specific spot in the spin studio to hang Greg LeMond's Famous Tour de France photograph on the wall, as if Greg were watching and inspiring everyone through every spin class at REZA RESORT.

The spin studio at REZA RESORT had a stage with 2 instructor bikes, and a control panel for managing the lighting levels, as well as sound levels.

That spin room was no other. It was magical. It was perfect.

REZA RESORT not only had a perfect indoor cycling studio, but also was home to the most professional, and knowledgeable group of instructors...all true athletes to the core!

Thank you all who made REZA RESORT.

Happy fitness and wellness to all in 2012 and beyond.
